Weavers are birds that appears the appear in The Lion Guard universe. They live in the Pride Lands.


In the Real World

Weavers have differing appearances depending on their species, but usually the males of the genus Ploceus bear plumage in shades of yellow and black. The females are usually lighter and duller colors than the males, such as buff or brown. They have strong conical beaks.

In The Lion Guard

The weavers shown in The Lion Guard are colored light brown, with greenish yellow underparts and supercilia. The wings are pale brown on the top half and black on the bottom half, the halves divided by a white stripe. They can also be orange with black foreheads, faces and throats.


Most weavers build cylindrical nests with narrow tube-shaped entrances. Mainly, the males are the actual weavers, but sometimes the females will help him finish building the nest. Weaver eggs are spotted. A weaver's diet generally consists of seeds and insects.
