So, I've seen most of the - wait, what am I saying?! Allow me to introduce myself: Pinkpeony73; bunny cop, extreme LK fan and admin on the Zootopia Wiki. How ya doin?
Anyway, I've seen most of the Lion Guard episodes now and they're all great, but I'm having trouble connecting with all of the characters, since most of the old ones are quite different, both in personality and appearance.
Simba - the classic Lion King - is my favorite character by far, but there are some major differences between him and the film versions that I don't like.
1. I think he should be larger than Nala, as he is in the film. Especially his head compared to Nala's is too small.
2. He seems to push his position as King quite a bit, something quite different from the films.
3. His mane color is all wrong. What happened to that gorgeous red sea that sported Simba's head in the first film?! Now it's more...pink and flat.
4. I think Simba should accompany Kion and the Guard on their missions more often. He is the King, after all. Even though the Guard is there to protect, Simba should still be concerned with the good of his kingdom. Remember when Mufasa would gallop after the hyenas?
5. He calls Kiara "princess" constantly. At first it was cute, but now it's like "Yes, yes, we know. She's a princess. Good for you. Don't you ever call her by her name?!"
6. He has a lot more "royal duties" than he used to. I mean, I guess that's good, but I miss the days when Simba would perch on the tip of Pride Rock and just survey his kingdom.
7. He has too much faith in Kion. This is my biggest pet peeve of Simba's. Yes, Kion is the Leader of the Guard and has the Roar...but he's still just a cub. If Zira happened to stroll by she could easily take him down with a swipe of her paw. I think Simba should be more careful with Kion, regardless of Kion's powers.
What do you guys think of Simba?
