Follow That Hippo!
When Kion and the Lion Guard are told that there are hyenas in the grass, they order the hyenas to come out. Instead, a young baboon and a female ostrich chick named Kambuni show themselves. Kambuni asks the Guard not to hurt them and explains that they were just playing. She is disappointed when the Lion Guard cannot play with her and her friends.
During Hero Inside, an ostrich appears resting. Later on, Kambuni pretends to be Fuli the cheetah with her friends. She remarks that their game isn't very fun, so they decide to chase some hyraxes. Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu soon attack, and Kambuni flees. One of her friends, Mtoto, does not escape, and she and her friends go and tell Beshte. At the end of the episode, Kambuni listens to Mtoto's story of being saved. She and her friends then ask Kion for their Marks of the Lion Guard.
The Trail to Udugu
Mbuni and her flock become alarmed when a mudslide threatens to push their eggs off the edge of a cliff. When King Simba and the Lion Guard save them, they are honored and relieved. Later, the eggs are in danger again when Swala's Herd stampede towards them. Fuli and Ono are able to sort out the problem, and the ostriches are calmed.
